Gothic Lolita: Goth Style Guide

Gothic Lolita is a branch of Japanese Lolita street fashion from the 1990s, shaped by Victorian and Rococo silhouettes, modest construction, petticoats, and coordinated accessories. Its history sits closer to Japanese street fashion and Visual Kei than to the original British goth music scene.
Proportion and garment construction matter: structured skirts, blouses, legwear, and a finished look. Adding black lace to an unrelated outfit is not the same thing. Research the conventions before treating it as a goth costume category.
Labels still help people find each other. DarkHeart is for matching over taste and respect, not flattening two cultures into one.
